This year, Joico turned to a member of its own beauty “family” for inspiration for its Beauty for a Cure breast cancer initiative. In honor of Christina Amato-Smith—a stylist, salon owner and Joico advisor from New York who has been cancer-free since 2009—Joico has created a limited “pink” edition of its new K-Pak ReconstRx Vapor Iron, and will donate a portion of all Beauty for a Cure iron sales to the City of Hope patient care and research center. In addition to the “Tools to Inspire” kit, Joico will offer a “Reconstruct for a Cure” K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor and Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil Duo ($18.95) and a limited edition “pink” Joico JoiMist Firm Finishing Duo ($22).  Each offers substantial savings for salons and their clients. A portion of all sales from these promotions will also go to City of Hope. These special edition products will be available at Joico salons during the months of September and October 2010.

In other Joico news, the brand recently earned an award from The Paperboard Packaging Council for its green-minded hair color packaging. The Eco Excellence Award was presented for its recycled Vero K-Pak Color and ISO i.Color and i.Luminate hair color cartons.
